Last Friday’s executive order from the Trump administration has drawn criticism from the NBA community, as well as from various corners of the country and world. The panel will discuss the NBA’s reaction, why they believe it was justified and what more can be done by the everyday person. That conversation is preceded by Aaron’s commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, also on Friday. His primary takeaway? The Holocaust’s strongest, most enduring lesson: Silence in the face of discrimination of any group is unacceptable and must never take place in order to avoid repeating the costly mistakes of the past. But first, in a much lighter discussion, Loren takes us through his thrilling Jeopardy appearance, in which he won two games and took home more than $37,000. Stick to sports? Not this time. The stakes were too high. Music: “Who Likes to Party” by Kevin MacLeod

The Orlando Magic are coming off another tough (overtime) loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. But do we dwell on it here at the Hocus Podcast? A little. Not much. The focus now has largely become on player development, so we’ll take the time to delve into some specific problems and idiosyncricies that have plagued Aaron Gordon and Mario Hezonja. We discuss the possibilities of moving Nikola Vucevic and Serge Ibaka, both rumored to have been the topic of trade discussions recently. With the trade deadline now about three weeks away (Feb. 23) the Magic have an opportunity… …to throw this fully into tank mode. Should the emphasis now be on developing the youngest players and seeing what the Magic have that can be used in this next phase of the rebuild? The rebuild of the rebuild, if you will? Orlando is firmly out of the postseason chase as possessors of the second-worst record in the East, and while the playoffs may have been an attractive notion to start the year, the focus at this point has to be mostly on the 2017 draft. We give the draft a moment again, because it is hard not to. Expect our focus to be on

The Judge (AKA Daniel Green, @DanielAGreen1) is back to recap Monday's action, and to help us prepare for Tuesday's slate.  The Judge begins the show by discussing Chambers' winners, dreamkillers, and dreamlovers.  Then, we turn our focus to the 6 game Tuesday slate by discussing injuries and then flying to Vegas (blackjack table at Hard Rock).  The Judge discusses the lines and over/unders of each game, and then he talks about which games to target based on pace.  Finally, the Judge hammers home the top plays at each position: Are any value PGs worth playing on this slate?  Westbrook or Harden?  Are the value PGs too expensive?  Do we trust any #OneTrickPony SG?  What position do we spend down on and punt?  What does a #triscuit taste like?  The answers to these questions and more shall be revealed in this episode.  Enjoy!
