For 48-minutes, even sans Evan Fournier, the Orlando Magic looked like a playoff team. They dismantled the Milwaukee Bucks on Penny Hardaway’s induction night, with seven players reaching double figures and Jeff Green doing his best to make our last episode look asinine. Jokes aside, Green played his best game of the season, and it was accented by an aggressive and focused Aaron Gordon.
It seems some of the comments, some of the discontent expressed by Nikola Vucevic and others, has begun to stir real motivation for several Magic players. But can this continue as the Magic host the league’s best team on Sunday? We discuss why a victory over the Warriors is not impossible and what Orlando can do to make it a game. Still lingering nine games below .500, there are some reasons for optimism, but consistency and sustainability remain atop the Magic’s checklist of things to fix before the entire league is going to “take them seriously.”
