Hocus Podcast Ep.4: Dubs Dab; Magic Lose, But Bulls Loom in Winnable One

The Orlando Magic (predictably) fell in its matinee match to the Golden State Warriors. Orlando stayed even with the Dubs for 24 minutes, but the third quarter belonged to the Warriors and Stephen Curry does seem to have a penchant for obliterating Orlando at Amway. Curry finished with 27, but we barely mention his name, because:

Mario was freed.

Mario Hezonja played one of his best games of the season, possibly his absolute best on the defensive end according to Chris. He also corralled five boards, an area I cite as one that I’m hoping to see improvement from Mario on as this season concludes. We also look closely at the individual play of Aaron Gordon, Elfrid Payton and Bismack Biyombo.

All three appear to be absolute keepers, whatever direction this team decides to take. With uncertainty regarding the security of one GM Rob Hennigan’s job, it seems the most prudent thing a fan or analyst can do is start to evaluate the Magic on the basis of individual parts and talents.

Ones which can be utterly rearranged, quickly, probably.

But do the Magic trade Serge Ibaka? That’s a digression we make worth hearing.

Tune in as we continue to travel this strange ride in Year 5 Since Dwight.
